Google has recently launched Cloud Console application for Android. This new app will help the Android developers to manage their projects hosted on the company’s Cloud Platform from their mobile devices. Its size is 5.2M and requires Android 4.4 and above.

The Google Cloud Platform is a group of cloud-based products and services that enables developers to create a multitude of things from websites, to applications, to other solutions. These services allow Android Developers to work on their projects without having to worry about managing the application, database, and storage.

Currently in beta, Cloud Console lets you look up the status of your apps, set up and receive incident alerts, manage your Cloud Platform resources and get performance stats from Google’s Cloud Monitoring service.

The Cloud Console enables you to manage your solution running on the Google Cloud Platform directly from your Android phone device or tablet:

You can view details and graphs for App Engine and Compute Engine instances and invoke operations like starting or stopping an instance, right from the app.

Google says it will continue to add features to Cloud Console over coming months, and launch an iOS version later this year.

Google Cloud Platform enables developers to build, test and deploy applications on Google’s highly-scalable and reliable infrastructure.

Mobile apps represent a massive opportunity for building a mobile-based company, but success mainly depends upon Quality Assurance team. Quality Assurance Team (QA) plays a vital role in the development of mobile applications.

To ensure the success of an app, QA must be involved in all stages of development, from creating the concept, analyzing requirements and wishes, creating test specifications, testing early versions of the app, releasing the finished product, to the post-development review process.

Mobile application testing challenges

Like any desktop or web application testing, mobile application testing is also paying attention on the quality and performance of the ultimate artifact. However, mobile app testing becomes far trickier because of the following key aspects:

  • Device fragmentation

Mobile device fragmentation is a phenomenon that occurs when some mobile users are running older versions of an operating system, while other users are running newer versions.

Unlike conventional web or desktop applications, mobile apps are used on multiple devices and platforms, such as iPhone, Android, Windows and many more. Moreover, there are manifold versions of operating systems for each device.

  • Availability of mobile testing tools

In-house testing constantly suffers from the paucity of sophisticated testing tools and methodologies, in accumulation to extremely competent testing possessions. Moreover, they don’t have admittance to mobile testing best practices, guidelines and industry standards that need to be complied to.

  • Application Life cycle Management

Application lifecycle management (ALM) is the supervision of a software application from its initial planning through retirement. It also refers to how changes to an application are documented and tracked.

Factors to be considered for a successful mobile app testing:

Functional testing is the most commonly considered type of testing for any app. At the start of your project, get your team to write up test cases revolving around all the functionality of the app. Starting test case documentation early in the project helps with improved understanding of the requirement.

Make sure everyone in the project understands the difference between “User Interface” and “User Experience”. Finding visual element bugs is User Interface related. However, in addition, testers need to understand the User Experience from various points of view such as user demographics, animation, touch and gestures used. So considering usability testing of the app prior to starting the project is absolutely vital.

Performance of the app is also a key factor to be considered while testing a mobile app. Performance optimization has to be considered during the implementation of the app in terms of optimizing the web service communication, local caching, media streaming optimization, etc.

Battery Drain & Location services
Many users simple delete the apps just because that respective app consume more battery than other apps. So it is very important to double check that the app is not running the location services in the background. This results in battery drain.

Many consumer based apps require rigorous testing as the behavior of each consumer varies from one scenario to the next. Besides manual testing, there are certain scenarios which can’t be executed during manual testing, but which can be automated by scripting the test cases. This will ensure that certain user interactions are tested completely. Stress testing can be performed using test scripts.

So, these are all about my experiences in Quality Assurance. What are the steps that you consider before mobile application testing?

The goal of Apple has always been to make powerful technology- more accessible and more relevant and ultimately, more personal. Apple has launched a smart watch with amazing applications. It represents a new chapter in the relationship people have with technology.

Versions of the watch are meticulously made out of aluminum, stainless steel or 14k gold. The Apple Watch Sport made out of aluminum starts at $349 for the 38-millimeter version. The Collection made out of steel is priced between $549 and $1,049, and the Watch made of 14k gold is priced at $10,000.
The remarkable watch has made communication more convenient. It will let you connect with your favorite people in fun, spontaneous ways — like sending a tap, a sketch, or even your heartbeat. It will connect your phone over Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.

Apple Watch gives you a complete picture of your all-day activity. The three rings of the Activity app show your daily progress and help motivate you to sit less, move more, and get some exercise. It also acts as an advanced sports watch, giving you real-time stats for a variety of the most popular workouts. Over time, this exclusive watch learns your activity and fitness levels. It uses that information to improve the accuracy of your measurements and suggest personalized all-day activity goals. It even provides custom reminders to encourage you to achieve them.

Egg Timer
This product of Apple wants to be your fitness companion also by tracking daily activities. It consists of heart-rate monitor who directly compete the long list of fitness wristband trackers on the market, like the Fitbit and Jawbone. Each week, the device will send its users a progress report on their movements and suggests a new daily Move goal based on the week before.

The company also introduced a new software framework called Research Kit that will allow patients to help medical researchers. Patients fighting with diseases like diabetes can share symptoms with researchers via this app.

Other apps shown off include WeChat, Instagram, SPG hotels, and Uber. The Uber app shows your driver’s ETA, name and license plate number. Like the Uber app on your phone, it will let you know when your car arrives. The SPG hotel app can be used to unlock your room door. You can even check in to your hotel room on the watch, so you can bypass the front desk entirely. The app allows you to see a live video feed from your home’s security camera and lock and open doors.

The Apps Market is growing faster than ever and with so much competition, it’s getting even harder to create a successful app. Recent research shows that over 90% of mobile phone apps are abandoned within a year. Only a select few will make it through to become indispensable to a number of users – and even fewer will become global sensations.

Here I shall discuss some of the major reasons for mobile application failure:

  •  Stale content

It is essential to keep your app updated with new content, so that it remains updated in users’ mind as well. If you will not upload new content to your app, then users’ start getting distract with it – with an intention that they are not getting anything new from it. Uploading daily new content is a reason for your users to check out your app regularly.

  • Producing Replicas of existing apps

Most apps as we see them today are replicas of a few popular ones. The users are looking for innovation and the failure to come up with something inventive causes, disappointment, and loss of trust. For instance, if all the fashion designers are making the same style of apparels the competition will be high; hence only the original concepts and designs make an impact on the customers’ mind.

If you are creating an app with the sole purpose of earning money out of it then you have already committed the first gaffe. Your main motive should always be solving a problem that exists amongst the users.

  • Ignoring the reviews

Reviews are the thoughts of your users. It comprise of: what users like, what they hate, what they need, what they eliminate and what they want to improve. Many developers ignore reviews of their users. Don’t you like to make these changes to your app? If yes, then start to check reviews from now onwards. They will give you instant idea of what your app actually needs.

  • Too many or too less features

Choking your app with too many features will not make a hit amongst users. If you have a look at the updates from Instagram it will hit you how they come up with their updates. It keeps alive the interest of the users and every new feature gets publicity by itself. This proves clearly how many and when will your features impress the users of the app.

Hence, if you are under the impression that a feature-loaded application will lure the users; it might turn to be an exactly opposite scenario. Excessive features might confuse them and thus they would prefer to opt for something more specific to their needs.

  • Not Carrying out Enough Marketing in Time

Most marketers make this mistake, marketing your app after it has been created and launched is the dullest job and fruitless too. Rather it is time to take the more innovative approach, especially with so many methods of publicity at your disposal. There is no harm in creating a little hype for your application.

  • Incompatible User Experience

The main criterion behind an app creation is starting an interaction with the user. If you have a deaf and mute app that does not provide any feedback to the user he will certainly be less interested to use it. It will like clearing the highest level of a game still not getting any scores or unable to share your scores with your friends; what’s the fun in that?

  • Inability to understand the target audience

If you are not able to focus on your target audience properly; it will certainly paint a very blurry picture about your ideas, as a result your application will never reach the right users and remain an unimportant guest in the app world.

Just to conclude I would say, Constant changing role of mobile apps for business is a big challenge for enterprises. Also, increasing competitions make this challenge more tough to face. Ignorance of even a single minor issue can result into a big failure. All parts are necessary to take care of and to develop a successful enterprise app.

What’s more important than prior domain knowledge is the ability to understand the market, the (potential) customers, and their needs and challenges.People today have short attention spans and don’t want to take the time to view websites, emails, etc. on mobile devices if they aren’t mobile-friendly. As mobile dominance continues to increase, it’s important to incorporate mobile into your B2B marketing strategy.

More than half of the mob of B2B purchase decision makers and influencers use their smartphones to gather information when purchasing products or services. This is the reality we are facing in our digital world. And with the B2B sales cycle being longer than B2C, it’s even more important that your digital marketing is set up for mobile.

Here are some key elements to latest B2B marketing communications tools, emerging platforms, and best practices, including the following:

  • Strategic and actionable B2B writing for blogs, social media, e-papers, case studies, speeches, industry association conferences and more.
  • Creating content that inspires dialogue and is relevant, shareable, search-engine optimized and monetizeable
  • Marketing campaign development aimed at B2B lead generation and nurturing.
  • B2B brand building using social media platforms and channels.

For now you are aware of with the latest B2B marketing communications tools, I would like to tell few more important points that are required to be considered when Leads come from page visits or subscriptions forms online:

B2B Sales Leads

Rule 1: Don’t let online leads wait: If you make leads wait, they will most likely move on to the next and find one that could satisfy their needs. Your best chance of reaching these leads is the moment when they identify themselves as a prospect.

Rule 2: The need for speed: Speed is the most crucial matter to convert lead into clients.Again, because online leads require immediate response, your team should be able to handle the task of responding to each lead based on type: inquiries, requests for data, warm leads, hot leads and whatnot. You could track response times and make reps accountable for speedy follow-up, or adjust your compensation plan to create incentives for real-time responses.

Rule 3: Always make it sure it is better to be quick than accurate: Every response from a lead indicates a small time-frame window for marketers to take hold of the action. That principle allows one to prioritize the quick response over accuracy, because you can’t spend precious time making a response perfect while time is ticking away.

How to increase sales lead

How progressive are you with your B2B Lead Generation?

What marketers should do is to think outside the box. They will need to think differently from the competition. After all, it pays to stay one step ahead and to be willing to try things out.

Are you willing to get out of your comfort zone?

The problem with many marketers today is that they get so attached with their current strategies. They often believe that their current campaign passes for an efficient lead generation program. They often shrug at any opportunity to try out new things. But without trying out new solutions, vertical business growth is impossible.

Are you willing to make mistakes?

No business is ever immune to making mistakes. Moreover, no marketing plan proves to be the most effective. Nonetheless, businesses should be willing to take risks. You cannot get to an effective marketing planwithout having to suffer a great deal of risks along the way.

Are you willing to outsource?

Finally, progressive marketers know best to hire a B2B lead generation services company. Considering that competition within the industry is getting fiercer, it would be practical if you consider the services of a lead generation firm that thinks differently from typical outsourcing firms.
